BCAA or branch chained amino acids are 3 of the essential amino acid group-leucine, isoleucine and valine. BCAAs are great-imperative to dieters on low cal, low carb diets. Bcaas help preserve the lean mass for people in this group by helping to reduce muscle breakdown.
BCAAs are wonderful for endurance athletes, and I can testify to that! BCAAs are your body's first line of energy. Your body must first burn through all those before it taps into your glycogen stores; therefore you go longer, faster, heavier whatever th ecase may be. In weight lifters , BCAAs seem to enhance the workouts with more strenght and muscle endurance as well. Taking 6-8 g pre workout for endurance works well. 2-4 g post for weight lifters and again endurance athletes for recovery. 2-4g periodically during the day..or even more for dieters.
